ARIZONA CARDINALS: My Rookie pick!

ARIZONA CARDINALS: My Rookie pick! 2016

My 2016 Rookie  would have to be the Cardinals 29th overall pick, Robert Nkemdiche DT. (KEM-DEE-CHEE) He was able to practice with the team on Monday for the first time since camp started.  It's being reported that Nkemdiche is taking his recovery for a high ankle sprain on a day by day basis. No need to rush productivity at camp and risk further injury.

"I could [play Sunday]," said Nkemdiche, who injured his right ankle during a pre-training camp quarterback school July 26. "I'm just going to listen to the staff and take it day by day and see how I feel and go with how I feel."

With just a first impression glimpse of Nkemdiche participating in camp and running individual drills, many are amped as they expect the Cardinals Defensive Line to become potent with his addition. Head Coach Bruce Arians has stated that Nkemdiche’s rookie season will be limited to 20-25 snaps. Although scheduled to be limited during the season, we never know what can happen on any given Sunday!

White Barbecue Chicken Sandwiches

Betty Crocker: White Barbecue Chicken Sandwiches (10 mins to make, serves 6)
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
Football season is here again and now is the perfect time to start planning some menus for tailgates, home parties or just for your close party of friends and family! I like to share recipes that I come across that are easy enough for anyone to make and that will make a any gathering a sensational hit!

Today, I am sharing this one from Betty Crocker I hope you like it as much as I did. It was super easy to prepare! For the chicken, I bought one of the already made rotisserie chickens from the deli at my local grocery store and used the breast meat, but you could use any kind of chicken.

Ingredients:

White Barbecue Sauce

1
cup light mayonnaise
3/4
cup cider vinegar
2
tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1
tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4
teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)

Sandwiches:

6
hamburger buns, split
2
cups angel hair coleslaw (from 16-oz bag)
3
cups shredded deli rotisserie chicken (from 2-lb chicken)
12
hamburger dill pickle slices

Directions:

  • 1 In small bowl, mix mayonnaise, vinegar, lemon juice, black pepper and
  • red pepper with wire whisk.
  • 2 On each bottom, place 1/3 cup coleslaw, 1/2 cup chicken, 2 tablespoons
  • white barbecue sauce and 2 pickle slices; cover with bun tops. Refrigerate
  • remaining white barbecue sauce in covered container up to 1 week

  • Expert Tip: White Barbecue Sauce, widely used in Alabama-style barbecue, is known for its vinegary taste and use of mayonnaise as its base, rather than the usual tomato sauce. To make the sauce ahead of time, combine all of the ingredients, store the sauce in the refrigerator, and bring it to room temperature before serving
As always, Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see many of ya'll soon at the games! GO CARDINALS!

My 2 'Best Players' to watch this season!

My 2 'Best Players' to watch this season!

As we get further into 2016 Cards Camp and the preseason games, I wanted to share a couple players to keep an eye on as we get closer to the regular season. One player from offense and one from defense. Remember the thoughts shared here are only MY opinion and should be treated as such. Ok, Here we go:

My ‘best’ offensive player this season would have to be David Johnson #31 RB. As if his 13 touchdowns last year and his record breaking as a rookie wasn’t exhilarating enough, David Johnson is already showing tremendous growth and strength during Cardinals training camp. I suspect Johnson to have another stellar year as starting RB. As long as he stays healthy, he has the running talent to turn heads from all over the NFL.

My ‘best’ defensive player to watch this season would be Markus Golden #44 OLB. Markus was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2015 draft. He had 4 sacks his rookie season but often overran plays in an attempt to get at the QB.  At Cardinals camp so far Golden has shown improvement and has been working hard to understand the scheme. I see his sack count rising with the addition of Chandler Jones and he’s one I’ll be watching progress for sure.

Arizona Cardinals Upcoming Pre-season 2016

ARIZONA CARDINALS vs OAKLAND RAIDERS PRESEASON GAME 1 (8-12-16)

With the Arizona Cardinals kicking off the 2016 season this Friday in their first preseason game against Oakland, many are wondering what to expect from the team as we try to build off of the momentum from last season. There's no question that last season was the best one yet for the Arizona Cardinals. Fans from all over the world were excited as we made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game. Many of us had high hopes of going to the big game, but that all fell short with a devastating loss against Carolina. Well, now the time has come to put the past behind us and focus on this season and our future. There have been key movements within the organization during the off-season to prepare us for what many feel is our best chance at a Super Bowl winning season. Today I'm going to go over a couple of the big moves and what to look for as we officially enter the preseason.

The Arizona Cardinals were able to resign 3 big name veterans to remain on the team. First was the mega deal for S Tyrann Mathieu who scored a 5-year extension that will keep him on the team until 2021. The contract is reportedly worth $62.5 million with $21.5 million due at signing (Yahoo Sports). Then came two other extensions, one for QB Carson Palmer and one for WR Larry Fitzgerald. Both of these were 1 yr deals. “I didn’t hesitate,” said Palmer, who is now under contract through 2018. “I’ve been playing my whole career to be in a situation like this.” (Kyle Odegard). Also, it’s worth mentioning that RB Chris Johnson turned down a starting job with the Miami Dolphins to remain with the Cardinals, who will more likely utilize him as a back up to RB David Johnson.

Now, as far as what and who to look for I like to give my opinion and what/who  I will be looking at. Plus the actual way it goes down in preseason games can change by the minute. This first game it’s looking like I’m an offense kind of lady! I’m certainly looking at the QB’s. Head Coach Bruce Arians said that both Palmer and Stanton will play a lot, along with Matt Barkley. Jake Coker will play in the 4th quarter (Mike Jurecki). I am surprised to see that injured Tyrann Mathieu will get a little field time, but it has been reported that he is ahead of schedule with recovery and expected to be back during Week 3. I am also interested in seeing LT Jared Veldheer come back strong and one more guy I’m watching is RT D.J. Humphries who is listed at starter and who also personally told me at Cards camp that he was ready to get out there and play! Whoever you’re looking to see, I’d love to hear about it.
